Lasagna
When you hear someone asks about Italian food, the first thing that pops in your mind must most likely be pizza. However, let me introduce you to an Italian dish which overtook pizza's popularity in the most delicious food list based on the open poll held by CNNGo in 2011: Lasagna.
Lasagna placed 11th in the list whereas pizza (Neapolitan pizza) ranked 35th.
Lasagna is originated from Italy. It is made of several layers of pasta and in between the layers, it is filled with sauce (usually tomato sauce), minced meats (could be beef, chicken or pork) and vegetables (mushrooms, olives, etc.) There are usually 4 to 5 layer of pasta alternated with all the flavorful ingredients.
Next time you go to an Italian restaurants, try lasagna and you may be addicted to it.
